The Stoic Library plugin

Find passages from the Stoic classics by topic or reference, with exact text, named translations and links to keep reading.

Versions for ChatGPT and Claude use the same tools and endpoint. The Claude plugin is available in Claude’s plugin directory and the ChatGPT app is available in ChatGPT’s plugin directory.

The separate Claude MCP connector listing is still in directory review. You can use the published Claude plugin now.

Read the source

Ask for a passage about anger, friendship or uncertainty, or request a reference such as Enchiridion 20. The tools search the library and retrieve source text. Your assistant chooses which passages fit and provides any interpretation. Its explanation is separate from the quoted translation.

Whole letters and chapters are available in successive pages. Reading links open the quoted edition. A search that finds nothing cannot establish that an author never said something.

Publisher and support

Created and operated by Gerald Norby, under the Norbonics studio identity. The plugin is free, requires no library account, and makes no calls to an AI provider on our server.

For support or source corrections, email norbonics@outlook.com. Include the reference, edition and what went wrong. Please omit sensitive personal details.
